Getting rid of acne is a long process and requires lots of patience from you and some helpful guidelines that will steer you into the right direction.
To get rid of acne, you will need:
- gentle facial cleanser
- warm water
- topical acne medication
- noncomedogenic cosmetics
- shaving cream with benzoyl peroxide
- prescription acne medicine
Wash your face with warm water in the morning when you wake up and in the evening, before you go to bed. DO not use harsh scrubs that may damage your skin
Gently use a towel to pat your face. Do not wipe or over wash your face, as this can remove too much of tha skin oil that is beneficial for your skin health.
Apply a topical acne medication, an over the counter cream or a medication prescribed by your doctor. Those that contain benzoyl peroxide are very good because they reduce bacteria and salicylic acid unclogs your pores
Protect your skin from sun rays with sunscreen lotions or cream.
Use only noncomedogenic cosmetics, and try not to apply too much on your face. Your skin need to breathe, and if you apply to much makeup, your pores become clogged and pimples will start to appear.
This one is for men. If you shave, do it carefully. Try to shave only when necessary and only in one direction, to avoid irritating the skin.
Do not squeeze or pop your acne. These will only cause more damage to your face and can result in scarring
Try to avoid as much as possible the contact with infected areas. Do not touch your face with your hands, phone, or any other objects.
Try to keep your face as clear as possible, keep your hair off your face (available for women with long hair)
Also, be patient and remember that getting rid of acne is a long process, there is no fast, over night remedy.
